Play for Life promotes regular exercise for healthy living and is one of the main pillars of ICLDC’s public health awareness campaign, Diabetes.Knowledge.Action.

Play for Life’s annual football tournament encourages corporate teams to swap their desks for a day in the football field. More than 1,500 players and thousands of supporting family members have taken part in the event over the years. In 2016, 12 teams competed for the winner’s trophy at the National Stadium, Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi

In 2011, Play for Life also hosted the campaign’s first Female Fitness Challenge, featuring 50 participants who represented six corporate teams. The success led to a 12-week challenge coordinated with the Family Development Foundation. In the 2012 edition, twenty women from the Mirfa region took part in the challenge.

Since 2015, ICLDC organises Kids Fun Day events in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain under the Play for Life pillar. Through a series of interactive and fun workshops, the event aims to educate children living with diabetes and their parents about the importance of living healthily, as well as how preventing and managing diabetes can be achieved.
