Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist
Dr Emad arrived at ICLDC in 2015 after more than 16 years as a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology, and General Medicine in the UK. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, he was also awarded his MD from Cambridge for his research into hypoglycaemia unawareness.
Alongside his clinical work, he has a longstanding interest in medical education, being in charge of education at a hospital in the U.K. for 10 years, facilitating teaching skills courses for fellow consultants across the Eastern region. Most notably, he was an Associate Postgraduate Dean in the East of England, with responsibility for the educational welfare of over 1,000 doctors.
Dr Emad is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and an MRCP PACES examine, also examining regularly in Dubai. At ICLDC, his remit includes assisting with the development of ICLDC’s continuing medical education (CME) events portfolio for the region's medical professionals. He organises both the Advanced Diabetes Conference and its Advanced Medicine Congress, held annually by ICLDC.
