Biography

Manar Abu Asaba is a Diabetes Educator at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi, a Mubadala Health partner, where she has worked with endocrinologists for over 15 years.

She is the clinic leader for the practice and provides diabetes care and education for children, adults, and their families. She takes pride in utilising her knowledge and skills to educate people with diabetes and empowers them by helping them to better understand and control their condition.

Manar received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Hashemite University, in Jordan, before going on to attain a Postgraduate diploma in Advance Diabetes Education, from Malmo University, in Sweden, in 2014. She is also a certified Insulin Pump trainer since 2010. In 2022, Manar acquired the Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education (SCOPE) Certification, an internationally recognized standard of obesity management expertise.

She has been a member of the core faculty on the ICLDC Diabetes Educator course (IDET) since 2014.She has also co-authored a book on Insulin Pump for Paediatrics and has completed numerous presentations. Manar was also part of the team which led the development of the ICLDC Structured Education Program specifically designed for  Adult patients with Type 1 Diabetes
