Brown bread and berry pudding

Ingredients

  • 8 slices decrusted toast (brown if desired)
  • 500 g mixed berries-chopped
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp sugar or sugar substitute
  • Light whipped cream-to taste

Method

  • Layer the serving bowl with the bread
  • In a saucepan, heat the berries with the sugar and water
  • Spread the berries over the bread
  • Add a last layer of bread and chill overnight
  • Cut into slices and serve with whipped cream
